Biometrics: Technology for the Future

Fast, Simple, Versatile : the most efficient system available to verify identities.
The system ensures you are the person you say you are.

The SensoBox is the new generation of powerful, secure and easy to use biometric vein reader.

This technology reads the vein pattern inside your palm. This unique pattern, unlike your fingerprints, is special and proprietary only to your living body and strictly impossible to duplicate.
You simply set your palm over the SensoBox and within seconds the infrared sensor verifies your identity.

Bankcards, smartcards, PIN numbers, passwords… could all be stolen from you but no one will ever steal the vein pattern of your palm. Thus your palm vein pattern is the golden key to your security.

Key benefits

• Extremely reliable
• Small form factor, ready for wall built-in casings (Siedle, Weibel)
• Customizable to any corporate identity
• Very compact and delivering higher performance
• Able to run in a full standalone mode
• Can be used in identification mode for a wide range of applications
• Higher level of terminal's security is also a perfect choice for e-government applications

Palm Vein Technology

The sensor illuminates the palm with near-infrared light. This light is absorbed by veins. Then the vein pattern image is captured by the sensor and converted into a template. This template is encrypted and saved for further use.

Contactless Design

Our design minimizes hygiene concerns and psychological rebuts due to its completely contactless feature, the SensoBox is suitable for high level of hygiene environments.

Connectivity for Third Party System

The system provides Wiegand interface for connection to Third Party access control system.

High Authentication Accuracy & Security

With a FAR (false acceptance rate) of less than 0.00008% and a FRR (false rejection rate) of 0.01%, this outstanding level of accuracy and security can compare with iris recognition.

THE SENSOBOX IN SMALL BUSINESSES

For small installations, SensoBox provides a mechanism to automatically propagate database modifications to other SensoBox. Thus, the third-party application only communicates with one SensoBox and the others will automatically receive any changes.
Up to a maximum of 50 users;
Up to a maximum of 8 SensoBox.

DESCRIPTION OF AN IN-USE CASE

- A dedicated master SensoBox for enrolments
- A few SensoBox installed at doors

In this architecture, the application is responsible to store the main user database. The application uploads the users and their templates in a single SensoBox configured in master mode. With such an installation, it is possible to enroll users on the dedicated SensoBox when the SensoBox are not connected.
When connecting a new SensoBox to the system, it must not be configured in master mode, and the provided IP server is the SensoBox in master mode. All SensoBox configured in slave mode with the IP of the SensoBox master will automatically have the same user database. But these SensoBox must have been properly configured with the correct certificates and other parameters as the configuration is not automatically synchronized. This option can be configured in the SensoBox web interface during the wizard or in the SensoBox directly. Sensometrix recommends to limit this configuration to 8 SensoBox.

This solution is very attractive for small companies, very easy to deploy and light to maintain.

THE SENSOBOX IN LARGE INSTALLATIONS

A large installation is a company which requires a centralized server to store its biometric identities. In most of the cases, an additional characteristic/need is a software link between the server and the access control software managing accesses of employees. A full integration between Sensometrix and access control software is not part of this configuration.

For very large installations, with numerous SensoBox and a large population, Sensometrix suggests the following architecture :
- Some dedicated master SensoBox for enrolments
- A central server
- Numerous SensoBox

DESCRIPTION OF THE USE CASE

For large corporations, it is necessary to have some dedicated master SensoBox for enrolments. All SensoBox dedicated to enrollments should be connected to a central server. This time, the SDK integration is done on an application which runs on this server. The database will contain a lot of users, but not all the users will have access to the same doors. For performance reasons, the application should not upload all the templates on all the SensoBox, but should know which user has authorized access to which door, in order to dispatch the templates correctly. The application is responsible to perform backups of the database. A backup server might also be dedicated.

OFFER FOR TAILOR MADE SOLUTIONS

This configuration is the same as “Offer for large installations” with the difference that here the customer requests a full integration between Sensometrix and its access control software. In this case, a SensoBox SDK is made available.
